I went through a major overhaul. Everything, motor, transmission, bodywork, even the upholstery.

Scandinavians in the family, I presume? My mother opted for 'farmor' rather than 'bedstemor' (grandmother/granny) - I think it's suits her better, too.

Yep- strong Norwegian background on my motherʻs side. I actually partially chose my college based on the fact that they offered Norwegian as a language class.

I read this quickly at first - and misread "Frodo" - and was going to make a joke on newborns resembling Gollum! Oops!

[well, they do look like Gollum - before the wrinkles are smoothed out!]

Etymologically Frode is more or less identical to Frodo. It's the same root and meaning. Though I'm glad they didn't choose that version. Poor boy!

Ea, I am sure that you are happy that they chose a name from the old tradition, a legendary Danish king. It is a very good augural name for the boy.
