Public Service Announcement:
Installed the GPE package to the internal memory of the iLiad. I would not suggest doing this. The iLiad starting acting erratically when I tried running the program after using it once previously. Blank screens, flashing screens, overlapping screens, locking up. I thought for sure that I bricked it. As soon as I could I uninstalled the program. I think that it could be related to opening the last document function in the new software. The iLiad could see that as a document and then goes into conniptions when it starts back up. I don't know how it works when installed on a memory card. Oh FYI, I did not shutdown the iLiad when in the GPE program, so I can't tell you what happened. I reset the iLiad to going to the "Recent Documents" page on startup. This alleviated some of the erratic and very scary machine behavior. Sorry to tell you this, Adam B. |

Sorry, I should have made it more clear that installing to the internal memory is not recommended and can have unexpected effects.
Future installers should resolve this problem. |

I installed successfully after the package installed first. Last edited by lostdeer; 10-15-2007 at 01:56 AM. |

I installed GPE to SD or CF external memory. Either way showes the same problem:
After using GPE, the screen can not refresh when I press the quick reference button. The only way to refresh the screen is reboot. How can I fix it? |

Make sure you delete the _local folder on your internal memory.

I installed the program and deleted the installed icon, but _local folder is not deleted.
However, GPE does not work after I delete this folder by PC. |

It sounds like you don't have the developer package installed. Be sure to install that first.

I installed it, and unfortunally deinstalled it 30 minutes later. Cudos for both installer/deinstaller to work so clean. However the reason of deinstallation was, this folllows IMHO far to much the classical application paradigm to be useful on the iliad, I'd rather have a much more "paperoriented" "enhanced" calendar. Where you can scrible on the days, but some auto function still realizes the begin/end times... so you can sort for them, repeat it etc. (like drawing a cross on the dayback, and this can be used to determine the size of an event)...
But for now I rather go for these autogenerated calendar png files to scribble on... |
