I wanted to say that I want the new PRS 505 very much, and just like the proverbial fox from the Aesops tale that proclaims the grapes it can not reach "sour", I can not bring myself to praise it the new Reader. ;-)

I agree with all the comments about the new screen - the specs don't seem that different, but the new screen is noticeably easier to read in lower-light conditions. The grouping of authors by letter would be my next favorite feature, that's really saves a lot of button presses when you have a lot of books loaded. After that, the ability to enter a page number and go to it.
I'm sort of neutral on the other hardware changes... I use it in its cover, so I haven't noticed any difference in thickness. And the other hardware changes I thought were minor. |
