My garden's shot. Couldn't keep up with the long heat wave we had. I may get some eggplants, however. Next year, I plan to install a watering system. It gets old having to go out and water every morning, and I don't envision the climate getting better any time soon.

I now have 2-4 ripe cherry tomatoes every day. Not enough to feed a family, but that's OK since there's only me

And they make a very nice treat at breakfast.

The basil is also starting to grow (very slow), and even, on the second try, the tarragon. And my second crop of rocket (the first is almost all eaten out) is starting to peak out.

Difficult to count, but must be in thousands, wild bees - few honey bees, though.

Hundreds of butterflies, mainly Red Admiral.

- all favouring the thistles and the masses of Rosebay Willowherb.

Somebody is eating my tomatoes

This morning I found grooves on two of them.

I suspect birds, because I doubt very much that slugs or snails would climb to my 4th floor windowsill.

Also, one of the plants looks sick. They all have leaves that turn brown, but this one suddenly has much more of them. I hope they will last long enough for me to harvest all the tomatoes!
