Er, no at least animals have a lot less moral choice in their actions. One should never said "you're behaving like a beast" referring to a criminal, because humans are worse.

So, naturally, I would be so sick and tired of being nauseated and exhausted, I would have to become something beyond sick and tired and nauseated and exhausted.
And, frankly, I'm sick and tired of being the one blazing the nauseated and exhausted trail!
I'm so sick and tired of being nauseated and exhausted of seeking what lies beyond sick and tired and nauseated and exhausted that, quite honestly, I am beyond sick and tired and nauseated and exhausted!
I am totally farking ready to puke partially digested, maggot infested rancid rat snot into the first person who opens their mouth to tell me they are sick and tired!
If they say they are nauseated and exhausted, I will be forced to do something really farking disgusting. And then wipe myself off on their drapes!

No, not at all.

Realistically; Critters don't borrow money and then never pay you back.

Critters never give you a wonderful welcome with hate or anger in their hearts.

Critters don't judge you on your standard of living or appearance.

Critters will sit quietly with you if you are grieving, and they don't feel the need to chatter nonsense all the time.

The list is endless.

the ex, despite the fact that he made a horrible, rather shocking break-up with me ("dumped me out of the blue" is a fair description) just too recently not to want to skin him and sell the flesh as whale meat, wants to be friends. I don't. So pardon me if I'm terribly cold in answering to texts and block him from FB updates (mind yer own business) and simply ignore him despite prodding.

"It's not you, it's just that relationships are too stressfull for me." Okay, next time I have to confront him I could just tell him that keeping around a fecking liar with far too many problems a 40 yo should cope on his own with (delusions of grandeur, persecution complexes, and generally being less bright than a eight year old) is too stressful for me. Tell me, am I too cruel?

There's a little lesson in saying to yourself 'SUAS' which means 'Shut up and Smile' - it confuses the heck out of them.

In your mind's eye you can rip off their left arm, hit them about the head with the sloppy end, and then get really violent. By the time they have finished their little dirge, you just walk away or put down the 'phone. They have no idea what you are thinking, all it's all such a let-down for them.

What you are doing is perfectly normal.

Nope. Just tell him that you understand about relationships being too stressful, and dealing with him is too stressful for you, so go away and stay that way.

He's not the problem. If I were in your position, my next step would be considering why I got involved with him in the first place, and how to avoid repeating that sort of mistake.

I've been lucky: when my previous serious relationships came apart, circumstances were such that we stopped moving in the same circles. It meant neither of us had to deal with the other while things were all bloody strips and sharp edges, which was just as well for all concerned. (And they were very different personalities, so the only mistake in common was picking an unsuitable long term partner.)

Even odder, none of them are on Facebook that I can tell. The only exception is the one I didn't get over.
