nook stuck on loading screen
Been happening for the past few days.. my nook keeps being stuck at the "Your device is loading up.. >"
I called B&N via Skype (I'm not in the US) and the person asked me to take out my battery and leave it out for 4 hours before putting it back and charging for 5 hours. I did just that - take out the battery for 4 hours and put it back, charge it overnight. And today, still the same thing! ![]() Help appreciated! |

take battery out.
plug usb lead into PC and turn on with battery out. If it loads, put battery in before disconnecting from PC. |

Tried that.. didn't work. B&N wasn't being very helpful.. saying that I was lying because that was the first time I was calling about the problem.. (WTF?)

Mine seemed to be stuck like that when I first charged it. I let it charge (until the light went out) then I held the power button for a long time (at least 30 seconds) and that seemed to fix it.

there's a few reports of oddities happening to nooks over on nookboards
are you sure the battery is in correctly? the nook WILL hold its image without power ...is ANYTHING at all happening on the screen when you put power into it? my nook goes a funny pattern, then white, then all black and then the nook screen comes up for loading if you're seeing no change at all, something's dead |

do you have a BN near you? if so bring it in to them and have them check it out in person.

have you an extra memory card in there?, try pulling that out? also, try leaving it with the arrows moving for a few hours does the orange light come on on the bottom when charging? do the drives appear on windows when you connect the nook? maybe the nook's processing books or something which is pausing the loading process maybe try re-flashing your nook - get a flash card that fits into the spare slot download the firmware update from B&N Press and hold the "<" button on the right side of the nook, and then press and release the power button, while continuing to hold the "<" button. that should force an update just incase your nook's corrupted somehow |

I just recieved a Nook Wifi and this exactly happened to me. I am in Spain so I would like to try everything before sending to the USA.
Yes it does. Quote:

I put the signed 1.4.0 firmware on the microSD and, a couple of reboots later, the nook itself made a software update. But I cannot tell if it took the factory fallback from the card or the internal memory. The real problem becomes after the update process: it started to boot and rebooted a couple of seconds later ad infinitum. This has been for a couple of hours. Any other idea? |

I had the same problem but my Nook was rooted. I don´t know about yours.
To solve the problem, I re-root it using the steps from NookDevs. Now it´s Ok. It seems that some bootstrap file got corrupt. If there is a way to re-apply the firmware to your main SD card, could it be a solution. |

If I could access nook's internal memory or force to load the firmware from the microSD it may work. Has anybody a hint or idea? |
