I'm thinking of selling the Nook along with its Oberon cover. I hate to part with that cover, but it doesn't fit my Kindle. Then again, maybe I could cut two of the straps and sew in some additional leather. It is beautiful; but as it doesn't fit the K2, I know it won't begin to fit the K3!
That would depend why it won't fit the K2. If it's too large for the 2, yes, then it won't the 3. If it's the other way around...

and those covers are awesome! Wish they were available for my Boogieboard...

The Oberon Nook cover is too small for the K2, so who knows? It may fit the K3. I hope so! If I can, I'll make it fit, even if I have to buy a leather-sewing kit!

Ow. Gran (dad's mum, 86 yo, more or less autonomous but under my aunt's controlling eye, in Assisi, some 500 km from here) has always been deaf- now she has an hearing aid (not as if she's always using it).

Okay- we went visiting these last couple of days and found out that she's hearing a music on and off (no matter if she's wearing the aid!) both in silence (that would be normal- jingles and muzak aim to that) and while she's listening to the radio or the tv, which means either that music merges with the sound or it gives a playback-like effect (the image says one thing, the audio- for my grandmother- sings another) . Which means also that she goes paranoid ("it's the dictators putting it into tv programs and church music!) or aggressive (when you don't get that it's a subjective stimulus).

I daresay that she should go ASAP to a neurologist... asap means to the ER's neurologist. Dad and I talk to our aunt about the problem (since she's the one living next to gran; we actually quite didn't understood the terms of the problem until we spoke with her) and it turns out that gran has that problem since three+ months . And that nope, she's not going to bring her anywhere now before she goes to Prague for a vacation. My mother (who stayed home with a nephritic colic and who's in the health sector) thinks it's nothing too serious, but it's also something they should check quite quickly, and not putting it off for months.

I am not really close to my grandmother, whose ideal for girls is at best antiquated (don't you dare talk about boyfriends, because...), but still it irritates me that it's always like that; my aunt does benefit from her mother's help and kitchen and is the main beneficiary of the house she'll inherit- fine, but she should take care of her too. The same happened with my grandfather when his Alzheimer showed- they had to wait until my uncle insisted upon having a real diagnosis. History repeaaats. Groan, groan, groan.

@Juliette
After having recently researched almost these exact same symptoms as your Gran I found out that the brain, if lacking in auditory stimuli or having only a ringing in the ears, can create it's own stimuli in the form of auditory musical hallucinations.

There are also some other causes for these symptoms, most of which can be ruled out by a head CT scan but should, in any case, be followed up by an assessment by a neurologist.

New fridge was delivered....but no icemaker hookup! And of course the delivery guys had no such thing...had to go to the store, purchase a hook up and connect it myself.

At least the new fridge is in place and hopefully it will be a better one than the last two...

Yes, LG seems to be very up and coming. This is just a "low end" fridge, I had a Westinghouse and it was a mess from the beginning almost. The new one is a Frigidaire hopefully it will be better.

boy what a difference a couple of weeks makes in a cats life! especially in training! before I left Strider was fine walking around in his harness, the few times he resisted, just a gentle tug would get him going again. Arwen was kind of ok, but did not treat it like a torture device.

WHAT A SCENE!!!! Strider flipped and flopped and slipped out of the bottom part of his harness, Arwen laid on her side not moving like she was being pulled apart. she eventually slipped out of her harness and took off (I caught her) and Strider was making "the hounds of hell are after me!" noises. I have a lot of make up work to do!

Poor kitties.
Struggling against the sadomasochistic harnesses of cruel oppression!
Kitties were meant to run free, unfettered.
Neatly shaven or bare.
Summer's Eve may be involved.
I may be confused....
Verily, I say thee nay!
Born free!
As free as the grass grows!
As free as the ass holes!
Frolicking and frisky,
like a kilted Scotsman on cheap whiskey!
Let them lick themselves in the sunshine.
They are only kitties once,
and all too briefly.
There is time enough for the responsibilities of cathood.
With it's bitchiness and hairballs and napping..
Free at last!
Free at last!
Good Golly, Miss Molly!
They're free at last!
Let my kitties go!
