Firmware Update Simplest method to register your Kindle w/2.5.x firmware, if you live outside US - Page 4

Hi Niffy,
It doesn't work for me

While following your instruction, I used 2 files: update_jailbreak_k2_install.bin and update_reginfo_0.1_k2_2.5_install.bin. Is it right?

However, when I press Menu in Setting, "Update your Kindle" submenu is inactive. So, I cannot use it. I press restart instead. Is it ok?

while Kindle restarting, it told me that It was installing the file. However, it wasn't successful both step 2 and 5 so my Kindle is not registered yet. Could you please give me the solution for this?

My kindle firmware is 2.5.4.

My kindle with serial no prefixed is B003

Simply sell your kindle and buy new one (graphite)

I did some research regarding 3G stuff, and buy used kindle board w/AnyData DTP-600W modem on it. But unfortunately, due to seller shipping mistake, after 45 days - I still don't received it

so, no progress at this time.

I tried to download all update files but still no luck to make it works. Got error 007 when jailbreak, mine is 2.5.4. Please advise. Thanks.

Thank you for update.

I Installed new Jailbreak edition before I try to use update_reginfo_v0.2a.zip.
and I uninstalled the old Jailbreak version before to update my Kindle DX to ver 2.5.4.
But version 2 not worked with me !
I reinstalled reginfo 1 again successfully.

Same as my device and software version.
Reginfo v1 will work fine with you.

Jailbreak error is Ok, please re-download update_reginfo package and try again.

Thank you for info! I will check v0.2a for compatibility tomorrow.
Links to update_reginfo changed back to v0.1
