The no computer use rule is actually quite common. Having worked in culinary for a time I know that the objective of the noon to three period is to pump them in and out as fast as you can, and the more people linger at tables, the harder that becomes. Plus, the longer you linger, the less often they can turn over the tables, and thus the less money they can make. On a side note, not using your computer during rush periods of the day is also polite to others as you're not hogging a table that they may need. This becomes even more important if they're on a tight schedule or short lunch hour and every minute counts.

Thanks - I've not come across that word before. We call it a "push chair".

We (India) use pram and stroller interchangeably"(Pram being more dominant), but this is the first time I'm coming across the term "Push Chair".

Prams and push chairs aren't the same thing. A pram is for a baby; a push chair is for an older child, and the child sits in it, rather than lying down as as with a pram.

I think they sometimes cross over, because some convert nowadays. My niece and nephew's contraption does at least, lol.

Looking it up on the web, it seems that an American "stroller" is indeed what we'd call a "push chair". Thanks for the info. Language can be a funny thing! |

Yup. When I was a kid, we had strollers that did one thing. Nowadays, my niece and nephew's stroller converts from a sleeping carriage to a stroller, and to a car seat to a high chair, depending on how it's positioned and onto which base.
