Amazon still has my prison-set supernatural thriller, The Scrubs , at the discounted price of 99 cents.

Description: James Jeter, the notorious serial killer with a sixth sense, holds court inside London's Wormwood Scrubs Prison. He's the focus of the "North Wing Project." Under the influence of a hallucinogen, Jeter can create an alternative world known as "The Rift" containing the souls of his victims. Pardons are on offer to inmates who'll enter The Rift. Michael Keeler has nothing to lose and little to live for. He's sent into The Rift to learn the identity of Jeter's last victim. It's a mission where the guilty can be redeemed, but at a price...

You enter The Scrubs here: http://www.amazon.com/The-Scrubs-ebook/dp/B003DQNXTS

First off, let me tell you how I found this site. My novella, The Death Trip is up on smashwrods for free in all e-book formats. Member GraceKrispy just gave it a 5 star review. I wanted to thank her by giving a coupon to get my new novel, Loisaida -- A New York Story for free in any e-book format on smashwords. Does anybody know where she is? If you see her tell her I'm looking for her.

Meantime, if you want a good FREE read go to http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/6095 and start by checking out Grace's review.

Second, if you want to read literary - thriller that will take you to New York's East Village in the 1980's when the neighborhood was on the cusp of change, then go to http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/19153 and use coupon number KG53V at the checkout. But do it now, because the coupon runs out on 8/8.

Why free? Well The Death Trip is a free because I hoped to use it to build a readership. Loisaida is just out and we'll be in paperback soon. The freebie is a promotion. I'm hoping if you like it, you'll write a nice review on smashwords or kindle. (It should be at Barnes and Noble, Kobo and Sony soon, but I'm not sure when.

Thanks and enjoy. And please say hi to Grace and tell her I really appreciate the smashwords review!

Epic Minimalist Fantasy Trilogy Now Available!

I don’t want to toot my own horn, but the reviews are now coming in on my Epic Minimalist Fantasy Trilogy and all three reviewers are unanimous in their acclaim. Exposition and dialogue merge into one seamless whole. You'll find yourself TRANSPORTED to another Time, another room - whether it be the bedroom or the bathroom.

One reviewer, Dirk BoGert, said “Incredible!”

Another reviewer, Spice Whacker (writing in the magazine Whacking Spice), actually said – and I quote: “Too incredible!”

A third reviewer, who wished to remain anonymous and who asked me to edit his review for clarity, wrote “Very incredible!”

From the very first page - beginning with the first word “Wow!” - you’ll find yourself mesmerized until the final, ultimate, finished conclusion on page one. Unaccountable dangers, along with tightening vines, await our hero who [SPOILER ALERT] meets a perfect death in an alien landscape of unfriendly means and too-bright colors.

No need to download this Trilogy: Simply read it right now at your convenience, located below:

Epic Minimalist Fantasy Trilogy
(Complete in One Volume)

Volume 1:
“Wow! This must be the planet named Gherz.”

Volume 2:
Isbraless’s face is perfection and cannot be described.

Volume 3:
“The landscape is horrible; vines tightening! Goodbye, Isbraless!”

I hope you enjoyed it. I've been working on this one for at least 3 years.

Now, tell us about your project. After all, this IS the shameless plug-your-own-novel thread!

RE Dr Drib's epic fantasy in three slim volumes...

Hmm; it's a little dialogue-heavy, but there's an admirable lack of backstory. I feel the characters could have been fleshed out rather more - for instance, I'd have liked to know the name of the hero. (I also wondered whether 'vines' was in fact a typo and you intended to write 'veins'.)

On the whole, though, a good effort; and how many three-volume fantasy series can be enjoyed in less than a minute?

Hello Dr Drib, good to see you back!

My new (second) novel, Passengers to Zeta Nine, is now available for the Kindle and at smashwords:

US site - http://www.amazon.com/Passengers-to-.../dp/B003YDXKB6
UK site - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Passengers-t.../dp/B003YDXKB6

Smashwords - https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/20474 (50% sample)

The electronic mind patterns and DNA records of Raife Harris and Doctor Nancy Zing have been travelling for one hundred and twenty years. They will be the first humans to see Zeta Nine.

The AI system aboard an Explorer ship is only interested in worlds habitable by humans. Raife and Doctor Zing are naturally excited when they wake to find Explorer 5017 in orbit. The viewscreen displays a beautiful Earth-class planet covered in lush vegetation and warm seas. Even better, there is an apparent absence of biohazards and predators. Everything looks perfect but is it too good to be true?

Follow the pioneers’ journey as they fight to maintain their colony. Together they battle against unseen dangers, explore a forest canopy which conceals an ancient mystery, and discover a cache of curious metallic objects.

What readers say:
“I was so happy to find a good scifi author, having grown tired of the fantasy books that pass themselves off as scifi. Passengers to Sentience was wonderful. As soon as I saw this new book was available I snapped it up! Thank you so much for writing SciFi, I am hooked.” – Rose, USA

“Passengers to Zeta Nine... this second novel is really great!” – Karen, UK

"Wow, incredible!"
You can add that to your reviews for EMFT, Dr Drib. I liked it quite a bit. I was amazed at the indescribable beauty of your heroine, Isbraless, and could almost feel the vines tightening around my brain as I read the final words. It took me some time to realize that in the end, Isbraless died with the nameless hero, since I thought he had sacrificed himself to save her, but I realize now that he must have failed. This is one story that will have me thinking about it for some time, much longer than it took to read the whole series. I'm left wondering if the planet exploded after they died, and would anyone even care?

Last month, I published twelve of my backlist titles--my 6 medieval romances originally published by NAL and my 6 Nell Sweeney historical mysteries originally published by Berkley Prime Crime--as ebooks priced at $2.99. As of now, all the books are available from Smashwords and the Kindle Store, and the mysteries are on sale in Apple's iBookstore, as well.

For full descriptions of each book, nice long excerpts, reviews, and more, check out my website.

THE MYSTERY SERIES, which is set in post-Civil War Boston, features an Irish-born governess named Nell Sweeney and her employer's black sheep son, an opium-addicted battle surgeon turned gambler named William Hewitt. Book #1 of the series, Still Life With Murder, which I'm proud to say was nominated for the Mary Higgins Clark Award, contains my all-time favorite scene out of the two dozen novels I've published over the past 15 years. Set in the winter of 1868 in a Boston police station holding cell, it introduces the wounded, roguish, complicated, dangerously charming Will Hewitt, who is destined to become Nell's love interest and sleuthing partner. The scene begins in Chapter 2 and spills over into Chapter 3, and you can read the first half in this excerpt on my website.

"Nell is one of the strongest, most honorable, and dearest heroines to grace the pages of an amateur sleuth novel....P.B. Ryan knows how to write a tale that will grip and keep readers' interest throughout the novel." Midwest Book Reviews

THE MEDIEVAL ROMANCES are set primarily in 12th century England, a time and place I fell in love with years ago after reading Ken Follett's wonderful Pillars of the Earth. Silken Threads,my medieval Rear Window, won Romance Writers of America's RITA Award for Best Long Historical Romance, and The Sun and the Moon won the Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Award for Best Historical Romantic Mystery/Suspense.

"Lusty and exhilarating, this is medieval romance at its best." New York Times bestselling author Patricia Gaffney

"Patricia Ryan continues to create superb medieval romances that capture the atmosphere and tenor of the time. Ms. Ryan breathes freshness into every page and enthralls readers with the power of her characters' emotions and their intelligent handling of the complex situations. She is a wonderful writer whose talent continues to enchant readers." Romantic Times

(SOMETHING TO BE AWARE OF: If you search on Amazon or other online bookstores for my books, you'll pull up some titles by another author who recently started writing romance ebooks for Extasy Books as "Patricia Ryan," which is my real name, under which I've been publishing since 1995. If it was published by Extasy, I had nothing to do with it.)

Thank You

Not so much a plug as a Thank You to the folks who have added Boomerang to their e-library lately. This morning I woke to see Boomerang's best ever B&N ranking, and while 26,775 may not be newsworthy in most quarters, it is encouraging beyond words to this writer.

My wife used to express astonishment at any evidence that "people who don't even know you" are purchasing my book. It happens on a frequent enough basis now that she just smiles.

P.S. Two days later: 23,775 even better! Thanks!

Hi,

I am the author of the new suspense novel, "24 Hour Lottery Ticket."

Dianne Canton is a lawyer whose life is in dire straits. She's lost her apartment and car. Dianne is living in her rundown office in downtown San Jose.

When Emma Watkins knocks on her door, Dianne thinks she is a bill collector. Emma turns out to be a former judge who holds a $73 million lottery ticket that will expire in about 24 hours.

Years ago, the media destroyed Emma and her family in a bitter recall election. Emma wants to stop the media from publicizing her name as the winner of the lottery. If Dianne wins Emma's case, her money troubles will be over. If Dianne loses, Emma will lose $73 million.

"24 Hour Lottery Ticket" is available as a kindle book on Amazon.

Update: "24 Hour Lottery Ticket" is now available as an ebook on Smashwords.

Thought I'd throw in here as nobody is checking out my book's thread since I went from freebie to half off. :-(
Loisaida -- A New York Story is gritty, character driven tale of greed, obsession, ambition, sex, drugs and real estate set in New York's pre-gentrified East Village/Lower East Side in the late 1980's.
It's available at Amazon US and UK. You can also get it for 50% off (only $1.49) for ALL e-book formats at Smashwords. by using coupon LU52V at checkout.

If you took advantage of the previously offered promotion, I'd love some feedback and if you loved it, I'd especially appreciate some comments on Amazon or Smashwords.

If it sounds like heavy going, or you want to check out my skilz first, you can try my novella, The Death Trip always free on Smashwords at: ( a light-hearted look at assisted suicide).

Cries in the Dark has been reviewed.

This is part of the review from VickiT.

Cries in the Dark has elements of drama, suspense, fantasy, and romance, but underpinning it all is a strong social message. The message, though, is not delivered in any way that is preachy but through the telling of the story from all sides, including that of the animals. Although confronting at times, I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It's one of those rare books that affects you long after you read the last page, but probably more so if you have any sort of affinity for animals.

This is the description:
Two prostitutes vanish.

Chimps are mysteriously missing from a primate sign lab. Is there a possible link to a biomedical research facility?

While premed student Alex Buchanan confronts her new-found ability to communicate telepathically with animals, the body toll mounts.

When her boyfriend disappears with a dangerous secret, Alex knows a serial killer is stalking her.

Can she solve this dilemma before becoming the next victim?

This is a new novel by a first time author. Available from Smashwords and Kindle.
