Hi Sameer, this is goddamn ridiculous. Kobo support is actually ignoring me and the SD card has not been sent out. How can your company continue to operate like this?

As soon as SD card firmware upgrades are mentioned, Kobo support does seem to ignore any discussions, support tickets or requests. Very poor. |

I'm not sure if Kobo likes to open the source, but linux cannot be set as proprietary. It might be branched, just as openbsd was coming to life from netbsd etc. Maybe new project to clear all mess about firmware? Epub support is fine, cannot say for pdf. Something based on open source? Nokia let developers to make new apps and tweak rough corners. You could see maemo results on almost every contemporary model. Kobo should learn on that instance. My 2 cents (or less). |

Hold power button, menu button + centre d-pad, then tap the reset button on the back (this requires some manual dexterity), hold the 3 buttons until it goes into upgrade mode. This let me try the firmware upgrade again, but it just continued to fail over and over. I ended up going to a local Chapters store, where they had the SD card in-store. We did the normal SD-card upgrade mode, except added a tap of the reset button and it managed to complete the upgrade that way. Had my Kobo back up and running quickly. I haven't read every single post in this thread, but is there a Chapters store near you? | |

This is precisely why calls are being made for Kobo to release SD card firmware upgrade images. so far, the silence is deafening. A Borders rep on Whirlpool announced that SD card images were to be made available via online links to Australians last week. But no sign currently for those either. Upgrading via SD card seems to be the safest, surest way. |

I've been talking to Kobo for over a month now trying to get a new ereader... They said they sent it but still haven't received one, apparently problems with customs. They said they sent the sd card and didn't, ereader and never arrived. Now they are trying to get me an in store exchange at Borders (I bought it at Walmart in Quebec and I now live in Vermont) but I am still waiting. The Kobo has been sitting like a paperweight on my desk for a month. |
