I just checked the order details and it's still telling me the precise date has to be determined. Uhm.

EDIT: the Kindle page now says it's open for orders on a first come first served base. Uhm #2, and crossing my fingers.

I ordered mine on Monday and it still says the same thing on my order. Plus when I ordered it on Monday on the website it said if you order today it would be expected to ship on or before sept the 4th. It still says that today.

yeah, I was told if shipping slipped further it would show on the site and it still says order today and expected to ship by Sept 4th......

I ordered the wifi for release, but then changed my mind for 3G which will be in the Sept 4th shipment hopefully, but am keeping my wifi order just in case the 3G one is very delayed, if it gets delayed and I really cannot wait then I will open the wifi and cancel the 3G, but if it arrives by 4th then my daughter will get the wifi one for Xmas.

both my wifi release order and 3G orders show no dates yet

I have also ordered a 3G and a Wifi model because at the moment I can't make up my mind. I'll wait and see over the next few weeks what I decide on but the shipping date may decide for me. I may just go with whatever ships first especially if there is a big gap between the dates.

lol glad to see Im not the only impatient one, would prefer the 3G but am not prepared to wait too long after estimated delivery for it, willing to settle for wifi if its more than a week or two delayed

I'm actually thinking very hard that I must not be tempted by the DX. Anyway, I ordered the wifi one- the K2i was good when I had a Times subscription, but now that I don't have that, it's a good excuse to restrain me from buying books when I'm on transfer and still probably get some subscription if I find a mag or a paper that I could like

Preordered the 3G a few days ago, but still not giving me a firm date for delivery. Since I'm going on vacation for a week end of august, will probably be changing the shipping address to my vacation spot assuming it gets delivered by the fourth.

So, yes. I caved and preordered.

Graphite 3g-wifi and the non-lighted case. I guess since I'm not in the first group, I'll get to see reviews of both the Kindle 3 and the case, so that if there is any issue, I'll be able to cancel straightaway with one or both.

I don't mind waiting for the reviews at all....

What made me preorder was that amazon has that price guarantee thing, and every now and then they make a nice little booboo and HONOR it, so just in case there is one.

I still kick myself over the 9.90 ABSOLUTE SANDMAN I didn't see/preorder (price mistake, really 99.00). Dang.

I ordered a K3 3g on the 29th July (at 6am in the morning) and today my order is expected to deliver on Oct 5th!

What I don't understand is why Amazon is saying that orders placed today will be delivered on the 8th September?!?

I'm going to have to give them a call...

yeah I am pretty shocked too

I just checked the UK site and the kindle page shows orders today ship Sept 8th, so how come others are seeing October on their actual orders?

I check my orders they show Sept 30th and Oct 5th , for orders placed 31st July and 3rd Aug !!!! What the hell is going on.

How can they show on kindle page early date and on actual pre-orders dates far later than being shown today! Plus the dates are a month after the dates shown when I ordered. The first order was placed a day before they sold out yet shows delivery of end Sept !!! thats not release at all !!!

The Blackberry Charger will work fine, the iphone charger will not!

I received the charger that comes with the K3 a couple of days ago (ships separately to Australia) and it just charged up my k2, so they are both the same.

My order was made at something like 9pm on the 28th, Amazon time.

Regardless of when you ordered, the order page still says they will advise by email when they have a firm date. My order was made within an hour of the link being operational (I know because I tried it for around an hour beforehand) and I have no delivery date yet. But I have received the chargers that were made with that order.

I think you just need to sit back and relax a bit people.
