I also got bit by the Kindle 3 bug. I put my K2 on craigslist and sold it and promptly ordered a K3. Now I'm having Kindle withdrawals.

Ordered mine on July 30th.
Today, I see the delivery estimate is "October 1st - October 5th".

I really hope they're just being precautionary.

I just checked my order from Amazon UK - it says and estimated delivery date of October 5th! - I ordered mine on the the 29th July.

What's going on with the orders? On the website site Amazon state if you order now they will delivery on or before the 1st September?

I hope this is a joke!

I just checked the UK site and the kindle page shows orders today ship Sept 8th, so how come others are seeing October?

Yet when I check my orders they show Sept 30th and Oct 5th , for orders placed 31st July and 3rd Aug !!!! What the hell is going on.

How can they show on kindle page early date and on actual pre-orders dates far later than being shown today!

Who knows what the hell is going on but I will be upset if I have to wait more than a few days after September the 4th because that is the date that was showing when I ordered.

seems to be a pretty widespread issue, I am wondering what on earth is going on, especially when the Kindle order page quotes a delivery of Sept 8th for orders today!!!

YEah! seriously!! I also have the october delivery date!! this beats the point of preordering.. Any amazon people in the site that can help clarify this?

I just hope it's a mistake. There seems to be no logic to the dates people have been assigned (ie based on order date). For some the delivery date keeps changing or disappearing.

Has anyone at least got a late august or early September date???

I just posted another thread (sorry), I didn't see all the comments on this one. I phoned Customer Services, even spoke to a supervisor but he didn't understand the problem, kept telling me Kindle was out of stock, and all dates are estimates!

I go on holiday on the 18th September and really wanted it for then. If it is that late then the Amazon case can go back as the Tuf Luv cases will be out by then

Earlier today, my order status said the estimated ship date was unavailable. Only because of this thread did I got back and check, and sure 'nuff, it said Oct 5
