You know, the people that start "small" often appreciate what they have. If you only had the most expensive/extended one, would you be satisfied with anything less? While if you started with the most simple one, you'll appreciate every new little thing...

So, both sides of the bed have 4 power outlets. Three on the floor (you know, for an alarm clock and other things you'll want to keep plugged; nothing there yet but the alarm, but still...) and one on the bed itself, right above the nightstand. Ooo. Both a clever provision of outlets (wouldn't mind having something like that myself) and a delightful set of windows. You could wake up in the morning and check the weather before you get out of bed.

But it sure would be nice to have that many outlets handy.

iLiad 2nd edition was my first eInk device - loved the PDF annotation merging, but the minute-and-a-half boot time started to feel like forever in the present era of instant-on devices. Maybe you could count my various Palm PDAs since c.1999, but I never really used them for ebooks...

I just graduated to a Sony Touch - smaller, lighter, faster and with most of the same features.

My first actual ereader is still to be purchased, but I read ebooks on my palm 3, my smart phone with mobile windows 5, and now, on my two netbooks, with kindle for pc, and calibre for other formats. I am thinking that I would purchase something like the kobo, kindle with wifi only, or sony ereader. The actual one depends on the day. I have recently gotten the GF hooked on ereading, so the purchase may well happen sooner than later.

This was also my first device. Coming from the Iliad to the Kindle was a huge improvement in boot-time. I hardly reflect any more when turning on the Kindle, it's just ready to be used.

Hi,
I have a really big problem. I have got an EBM-911 which is faulty and loses the OS every time I replace battery. Up to this time it was not a problem, because I could download the OS via Internet from Franklin. But Franklin removed the web site and the EBM Desktop software crashes and no OS is installed. I have the original install CD but at this point it also goes to the Franklin web-site for validation, and since the referred eBookman website was removed the Desktop Manager crashes also. Could Anybody make an MMC Backup (which includes the OS) from eBookman and make that available for me. I am terribly lost.
Thanks in advance: Ivan Gortsew
