My order est. is end of Sept. and I ordered it when it was released. If they delay too long, I will cancel and just wait for the new Sony, which probably won't be too far behind.

My order estimate has gone out to 7-11 October, although the product page still estimates shipping on or before 4 September. I did choose free shipping, but that doesn't take a month! When they slipped a week, it looked to me like marketing, but a month is a more credible delay for producing significantly more volume.

Reads to me exactly like the initial release has been delayed a week:

Mine was ordered the day after the pre-order started and I still haven't got a shipping estimate but the case that I ordered at the same time says it will be shipped on the 27th.

Hopefully you'll get it a lot sooner than Christmas . I ordered one on the 28th and one on the 29th and they just say "We'll notify you via e-mail when we have an estimated delivery date for this item" in the order status for both of them.
