Hmmmm... I don't really think of myself as too extreme...

-In Iraq... but it was during my off time. There was gun fire off in the distance and occasionally indirect fire... does that count?

-On a Navy ship, again in my off time (and no, I am not a sailor)- it really helps break up the monotony of day after day of the same thing

-Countless airports and flights (nothing too crazy... just your run of the mill flights)

-Of course coffee shops

-Pool side

That is all I really have... wish it was more interesting!

I'd probably do something religious, like take up a collection. (Apologies to Bob Hope, wherever he is.)

Seriously though, I wasn't reading when the small Cessna piloted by a friend's brother looked as if it was going to make the news. I did have my camera, however, and began taking pictures as fast as I could snap the shutter. I figured if that was it, at least I'd get some great shots on the way out.

Fortunately we landed safely, if a bit unsteadily, after almost running off the landing strip.

We went up the following week with another friend. I didn't tell him of our experience the previous week until we were airborne.

Poop a brick man! This is some hard-code reading right there.

How funny is this-I'm in Best Buy today and this guy was asking questions about the 600 and of course the 3 employess all have no idea what to tell this poor man. So I start talking to him and he ends up buying it. The 2 guys walk away and the one guy says," u like to read then, huh?" Mind u, me and the boyfriend are there but we split up and he knows I'm there with him. So I laugh and say,"yeah, I can't leave the house w/o it or else I'd prob go into seizures." Best Buy guy says,"Well that wouldn't be any good. I'd have to give you mouth-to-mouth, not that I'd mind."

Really, dude? R u serious?

Then he stood there and I was like,"Well thanx, see u later." cuz he definitely wanted to stand there and talk to me. Does this count as a pick-up line sorta situation? We weren''t in a bar but...

Maybe he just wanted to get into your PRS-600?
That also clearly qualifies as a pick-up line.

I just finished spending two years teaching English in Hiroshima. It was a great time and I was sad to leave. Lots of great people and good memories. But now it's on to (hopefully) bigger and better things! What do you do?

We are spending Sept-Oct in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Hungary, and Czech Republic. I'll tell you the most extreme place after that.

That's right. You got it. It was a great, challenging experience, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a chance to live abroad or a transition year between jobs.

This sounds like the most amazing vacation! Definitely let me know if you post lots of pictures somewhere! So, so jealous...

Hahaha! You should've slapped him in the face and said: "YOU DON'T GIVE MOUTH TO MOUTH FOR SEIZURES!"

Heh, some people were breaking down crying in the terminal after we got off the plane, but I think they were just wusses. Planes are designed to handle those kinds of obvious problems. It's little bits of negligence that add up to plane crashes, or at least that's what Malcolm Gladwell wants me to believe.

Not that extreme, but yesterday, while driving down Pacific Coast Highway on the way back from Malibu, I got in some good ereading.

There was a crash at Topanga Canyon and traffic was at a complete standstill. I ate my lunch and then pulled out the Kobo. Not a bad 45 minutes, actually.

I'd have to agree... a Kindle is the "wrong device for the job" (har har har). I think using an Android or iPhone reader would be better in this situation because lets face it, everybody plays with their cell phones, and the interviewer will probably just think you are checking email.
