				Russification questions

Hi, i'm thinking about russification of my PRS-900. Now there are 2 questions maybe some who already russified can help. 1.) Is there any way to save (and maybe restore) the currently installed firmware ? 2.) What time zones does russification offer ? CET and more or only the currently installed USA time zones ? thx. |

Well, there is the original image. To restore it you would need to burn it instead of new_opt.900.img. You may want to unpack it, re-pack it again (so it isn't as big) and generate the MD5 checksum (new_opt.900.md5). The latest Russified images (1.05a) allow setting the timezone to pretty much any offset (via the special config interface in the About Reader screen). i do wish there was a none 24hr clock option , it also seems to be messing up timing using 24hr clock when i put the time zone on central which i am currenlty. I have gotten it to work now, but that was odd. I also wonder how to use the screen shot option, im not exactly sure how it works since the options to engage it are the same as muting or increasing volume when i hold it. My last query would be , i wonder if its possible to put a basic browser on these units or a facebook app or twitter....with access to its firmware. |

When in the about screen, clicking the zom button toggles between the Vol+ hold being screen shot and mute. If you have it on screen shot, holding it until the volume icon flashes in the status bar will take a screen shot. You can find the screen shots inside the sshots folder in the main reader memory. Don't know about the browser… | |
