A vent can be as pleasing as a summer breeze. But a rant? Hey! It can only be done by a New Yorker, a Québécois or a Portuguese sailor...

Strine's good, but has a problem of being English you can't understand or find a school for the teaching of. It generally loses a lot of the vowel sounds, except for those times it doesn't and instead loses a lot of the consonants. It speaks a lot through the nose, has a lot of sentences ending in rising inflections, and every sentence is really just one, long strung-together word, and those words can frequently mean the exact opposite of what they say, depending on context (which can extend to incidents from 25 years ago or your non-speaking relationship with your fifth cousin from the Adelaide hills or just how many beers you've had this morning). It's nigh on impossible to put in written form.

tough luck he said refusing to allow a technician to come (in breech of terms) within 24 hours.

tough luck he said demanding I solve the problem by repair-format using discs they sent us with the laptop.

Oh no they didn't, oh yes we did ..... etc until a supervisor stepped in.

they went away and left it !

why didn't they say, just re-boot using "last known working boot" option !!!!

I was promised a telephone call between 8 and 10 this morning to arrange the visit....
