It was 102⁰F (39⁰C) on the deck a couple of hours ago when the electricity went out. Norton, the grandson, and I headed for the pool. It wasn't much better; the pool was 92⁰ and had crept up to 94⁰ by the time we came out. At least the electricity is back on. I'll be glad when the utility work in our neighborhood is finished. Twice in the past couple of weeks we've lost our Internet connection, and today the electricity went out.

Along with the downfall of the larder too, which is something I do wish I had. Although in a south facing kitchen it would be a little difficult...

Only 98 F on the deck tonight. Tomorrow's high temp rumored to be 85 F - but lots of humidity. Sigh.

We're looking at building a kitchen scullery/pantry as part of our upstairs kitchen remodel - somewhere to put the dishwasher, big sink, pots and pans, wine fridge, and all non-fridge food. Because our upstairs is completely open-plan, we just have to put in the internal walls and cavity door to build the room itself (and one of the sinks is already in that corner). That'll be in a couple of years though.

Today, coolish, damp, expecting maybe 20C. Currently forecast 24-25C for the weekend though, which will be nice (especially for this head cold).

It's HOT. The AC on high is barely keeping up. Sticky and miserable. And having a thunderstorm tp increase the humidity to 100%. My hair is growing out and soooo hot at the back of my neck. I'm drowning in the humid air. Help me?

Sorry to hear that Bambi! Is your AC in shape? Is it strong enough for the house?

Today stayed cool and showery (around 18C). However, we went up to Maleny in the Blackall Range, and going up the hill the temperature dropped quickly to 14C. Brrr, too cold for daytime for me. I had to wear jeans, and a jacket over my tshirt!

Still expecting 25C on the weekend, after rain over the next couple of days. Bring it! (It's not summer, but it's nice for winter).

Now that's interesting, I would have thought a larder and pantry were the same thing ? (one of those northern/southern differences).

Today is bright though cloudy with light winds and temperature currently 14C (57 in old money) and the forecast expects 19C (66F).

A pantry as I understand it is a room that serves the same purpose as kitchen cabinets. A larder is also a small room but it is not attached to the main heating system and serves exclusively for food storage. You find it in old houses mainly.
