She made it through OK. X-Rays showed that the 2 really deep puncture wounds on her side didn't quite penetrate the chest cavity. Right now she's lying next to me on several pillows.

P.S. Do you know, this was the first time I've ever had to consider a Do Not Resuscitate order. I've never had a dog need this level of surgery before.

So glad to hear this news. The usual outcome to an attack like this is a puncture of the chest cavity (tension pneumothorax if you watch ER) - which prevents the victim dog from inflating her lungs - and she suffocates.
