I've been trying to talk my doctor into this for two years now. Her refusal plus our insurance deductible, plus six weeks with no income for me is adding up to can't do it right now. I'm hoping next year maybe.

Post count milestones are different for each of us.
Some people will be on this site and only ever post 100 times. Some people will be on the site for a few short months and post 100,000 times.

It depends on the person if the post number is significant enough to be a milestone.

My own rant - is back to mosquito bites. My lower right leg is now almost covered in red, swollen blotches, some of which are very hot to the touch, and all of which itch like crazy, and are sometimes painful. It's driving me round the twist. I'm kinda loathe to go to the docs about insect bites, but I might have to.

I have, in a good case of bolting the door after the horse has bolted, now stocked up on DEET though.

Never go outside without your DEET! And be careful about spraying it near open bites where too much might get absorbed into the bloodstream.

Calamine lotion - slather it on - looks hideous but works!

How could I not think of that? I used to cover myself in it - and even chuck it in cool water in the bath - when I had chicken pox; and I use it occasionally if I get sunburn

You know that invitation to spend time in Canada? You'd better forget it for your own health.

Ever heard of black flies? They bite off a chunk of flesh that leaves a gaping hole just not deep enough to bleed. But that's a curse because blood clots close wounds while those stay open. You find that out quickly because sweat and perspiration leak in the hole to burn the c... out of your comfort...

Nah - I'll just wear long trousers and sleeves

And I've heard of them - one of the family (common name Blandford Fly) was a particular problem in Dorset for a while, until the areas the flies bred in were sprayed with a biological control. Never been bitten by one, but I know the sensation from shallowly grazing myself in places where sweat can seep onto

There is also "Ivy Dry" (which has a new brand owner now, but I think it still says that on the front). It helps dry the bites without leaving the pink paint look. Ivy Dry used to be brown, but now it's clear.

No,no, no, no... They creep inside your clothing. You have to duct tape every entrance. When it's 80, you know why they call it northern hell...
