The last time I heard a Brit pronounce "Norfolk" (Norfolk, England), they did it the same way those of us who like in the Tidewater area pronounce "Norfolk" (Norfolk, Virginia, USA). We pronounce in in a manner that rhymes with "more duck." Is that the way most of you folks pronounce it?

You can spot out-of-towners to our area by the way they tend to pronounce it Nor-fok (long "o"), or even Nor-fick. It's not Nor-fick, folks!

Almost - a shorter u sounds than in duck.

If you're interested in the Norfolk, England, dialect, you could do a lot worse than get a disk or two of the Kipper Family: Henry and Sid. Sadly Henry is no longer with us, but Sid carries on. http://www.sidkipper.co.uk/. Fictitious folk singers, but with real accents and humour.

actually Target and WalMart both carry electric kettles. I always have a teapot on my stove with water if for nothing else adding water to food I am cooking. I have several pretty teapots for brewing tea and some other specialty iced tea pitchers
