WARNING! This is a female-centric rant. If the guys don't want to hear about hormonal issues, skip this post!

Whatever has my hormones in an uproar needs to stop...yesterday! I'm sarcastic, I'm snappish, I'm irritable, and I feel like no one is listening to a word I say, which of course isn't true at all. This is about a 180 degree difference in my usual easy-going self, and to be quite brutally honest, I don't even like being around MYSELF at this point. I do not want to go on antidepressants, which is the traditional therapy for severe perimenopausal hormonal emotional issues, so I'm not sure what else my doctor could do for me. I'm allergic to chocolate, I don't drink, and even my usual remedies (music, reading, diet dr pepper) aren't doing it. If anyone has any suggestions, I promise to try really hard not to bite your head off!

Can't do the ganja, my teeth probably wouldn't withstand a sharp rap and I'm in enough debt without dental bills, the only family I have left are my kids and assorted cousins, and I need them not mad at me, and I never was any good at games. well I found the lost one but in a totally panicked knee jerk fashion ordered a new one. I figured that I could give my daughter one of them. she has since lost daughter status so I have an extra kindle.

see if you can find a Doc that will prescribe bio-identical hormones. they need to be done at a compounding agency. incredible help. seriously

Raw fruit and veg, if you don't have any medical conditions which would make that inadvisable. Lots of water. A few salted, boiled soybeans (edamame style, if that means anything). Stepping the diet down to basics can sometimes clear out excess hormonal 'panic' type situations, where the body's in a spin and isn't yet sure what to do about it.

Edited to add - in my experience, that is. I'm not qualified in nutrition or medicine.
