On the other hand, there are total bastards who prosper and do untold damage because some people couldn't touch reality with a 10' pole. Even Ted Bundy had a fan club.

This would probably be my chosen method if she was only a co worker, but if she's my boss? I don't know if I could do it. I'd probably just find something else ASAP and slink away quietly.

LOL!! This is more in line with what I'd LIKE to do...unfortunately it would get me fired, and if I have to leave because of this person, I want it to be on MY terms, not hers and not the company's.

Intelligence from coworker seems to point to the theory that she is not back permanently, she was here to help our General Merchandise manager. Which makes sense, as the job she left our store to do was General Merchandise in another store. There are still two people who need to take a "management test" for the Customer Service Manager position (my immediate supervisor). Either of them it would be ok if they got it, but I would prefer one over the other.

I will be glad when all the shake ups are done. Right now we're breaking in a new Assistant Manager (that I don't even know why we have, since we now seem to have one too many of those...), and waiting to find out who the new Store Director will be, since The Idiot is going back down south.

I've seen those types. Several years ago I worked with a guy who would do anything to get out of work, but whenever he sat in for the boss, he'd crack the whip on everyone else! If she's the boss, more drastic measures are called for. I could suggest some of the successful ones I've used in the past, but I don't want to open myself up to legal action, as they weren't always exactly within the bounds of what the law considers kosher.

The question is how folks with work habits like that get into supervisory positions to begin with. It points to flaws in the management of the enterprise.

Venting time, kiddies!

My sister, who believes in karma and "Do unto others" and the rest of that happy crap, went through a divorce a year ago.
He was verbally abusive to her, struck her two boys, actually damaged her dog and personal property.
I could do nothing. Chains, like here in DisneyLand.
He walked out. Said he could do better. Filed for divorce.
Happy ending?
Yeah, right!
Abusive phonecalls. To her and her sons. Home and work.
Threats.
Driving by her house.
Emails. Home and work.
Facebook. To her sons.
My sister clings to her beliefs.
She is on the verge of a breakdown.
He did the same thing to his first wife.
Her marriage counselor warned her that this guy is nuts.
So did his own brother.
I can fix it. Fark the law. Fark jail time.
I am justified.
The only thing that stops me?
My sister's stupid, antisurvival beliefs.
I love her so much.
But she is a total doormat.
