I tried several colors while I was posting that... perhaps you caught it when I had a not good one in there. How does it look now?

I am posting from a Kindle, so it's all shades of black and gray.

Perhaps the Moderators could moderate in Latin?

Or use a Moderator symbol, like Batman?

Not bad, Tom!

Looks a little like a seagull crossing sign, though.

The Mods need something that commands authority and inspires fear.

Maybe an official Moderating Thong. Whoever is on duty has to wear it. The "M" can light up when they are actually moderating.

I finished the Unlikely Spy by Daniel Silva. A good read. Catching. Eventually I will buy more. I bought it to explore a new author for me. I like him. I am always afraid to be stuck without something of value to read.

Now I started Ulysses by Joice. It is the 3rd time that I read it. In Italian when I was 16/17, In English when I was about 35. And now. What a wonderful immersion in the guts of an other guy. I read about 100 pages, and I need to look at words less and less. Although an annotated and commented version would probably be an intelligent thing to have and to read. Maybe next time. The dictionary of the Sony helps a lot with words that for me are unusual. I am imagining Dedalus quite differently than the other times. And this time I am so much with him. Great reading. Of course all those references to Irish lore quite pass over my head, while I am sure that he puts them there like cloves on the ham for poetic touches. Too bad. But going on with reading I am catching more and more. I hope it will never finish. But I do not want to interrupt like I do sometime when I have something very good. Like I did with Wallace and McCormack. I do not want to wait for so many years again.

In the Old Days (Before Kindle), I never used a dictionary to look up words unknown to me. Now it's so simple to check unknown words that I use it constantly. Learning all kinds of new words..

Just discovered Randy Wayne White's Doc Ford novels - reading EVERGLADES. Just started but it pulled me in quickly. Very promising!

Everyone - please read and follow this request:

Hi Folks....

Can you please refrain for posting cover images here. It causes the thread to load much more slowly and makes the data download much bigger. We have many users that are not lucky enough to have flat rate unlimited internet service and have to pay by the bit.

Thanks for your consideration.

Just finished re-reading The Portable Nietzsche, translated and edited by Walter Kaufmann.

The Portable Nietzsche contains complete translations of Nietzsche's Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Twilight of the Idols, The Antichrist, Nietzsche contra Wagner, and additional selections from this most accessible of philosophers who a wit once described as the "King of the One-Liners."
