This is just weird!!!!

And using the Mobileread.com method to do math surely complicates it even more i.e why isn't the Millionth Post just post1000000 and why does it change from post1010775 to post1010820...

because are we doing math the Mobileread.com way.

You get a point of post count if you report a thread I believe.

Yes, perhaps, it IS the posts within the Moderators Section and any other restricted access forums that skew the post count.

So now there's a way to see how many posts are made in these "unattainable" (invisible) forums...

For those wondering about fuzzy math:

If a thread is removed from a forum (for whatever reason, be it TOS violations or an out-of-control flame war), the database keeping track of post indices is unlikely to go back and retroactively re-number every post that came after the offending sequence. Usually the forum counter just keeps going, and the change is only reflected in the number of visible posts... so although the old post IDs remain in place, the actual number of posts accessible is lower than the numbering system would lead one to believe.
