I could do with something like that, right now! I use up too much brain power, can't play chess or anything strategic... the most strategic game I can deal with on weekends is Killer Bunnies...

No one to play with.
The height of game play in my family is Yahtzee.
Weird but true: At one point, I owned 6 chess sets and 1 QuadraChess set (4 person chess)!

Yeah, I bring down the intellectual tone of our family's game-playing something shocking. But my brain's just smooshed all the time. LDAP + RADIUS + wireless supplicants + the stuff we actually produce... *weep* I think my brain's trying to return to primordial slime. I used to LOVE playing chess etc.

On the bright side, even brain-dead I can play a killer game of scrabble

PS. QuadraChess... 4-dimensional chess? Holy dooly. Imagine pieces which suddenly attack you out of the past or future! ("Huh - I wondered where that piece got to for three days last October!") I know that's not what you meant, but wow, it's a neat idea... if darn hard to learn!

I've decided that getting excited - even vaguely enthused - about bestseller rankings in the Sony ebook store is like a guy being impressed that girls in King's Cross (notorious sex-for-hire area) are interested in him. Judging by the way my ebook's been bounding around the numbers, either someone's buying almost every book in the store at regular intervals, or the sorting algorithm's using factors I can't work out. *shrug*

Same here - there's a few people I work with who are 40 this year or next, and are being real moaning minnies about it. I'm apparently making things worse for them by being so gleeful about 40 later this year

I know a few people don't believe I'm that age - for some reason they peg me as 10 years younger.

I was often pegged below drinking age. I don't know when that stopped. Not all that long ago, I think, but I don't know what age people peg me at now. I love amongst too many oldies in this retirement town, and oldies tend to peg someone as a "young whippersnapper" to be condescended to if they still have their original hips.

I don't. I guess I must feel about 40 now because I'm feeling more comfortable in my own skin than I have done since pre-teenage. But... I find it hard to visualise myself as being a certain age. I'm just me. (The same goes for gender, too, bizarrely. I don't tend to see myself as female, just as me)



This just about sums it up I think.

It's an excellent summary, at least as empathised with by me.
