Whether or not it was porn or fine oriental film making doesn't really matter to him. After one or, at most, two replies back from him you should have respected his beliefs as being other than yours and left him alone.

regardless of the topic, PMs are PRIVATE MESSAGES. if you need clarification, ask a friend, don't post it. this is a bannable offense at many websites. not sure why you had to include the PM issue. you could have just said; "had a conversation with someone and brought up this poster... what do you think?"

There are some moral questions to ponder.

Men have different reactions to nudity. If nudity produces an unhealthy (I use this word for the broadest agreement) reaction in the man, it's to his credit that he wants to avoid the pictures.

The second question is whether the picture debases sex or the dignity of women.

I think men know what I'm saying that there's a difference in a picture that produces a healthy, "what a pretty lady" to one that inflames a "I'd love to..."

At no point did I quote any PMs and at no point did I say who I was PMing with-- and I would not have done so. Look at my posts-- I went out of my way to avoid naming names. There was no breach of privacy whatsoever. That he chose to reveal himself was his choice.

1.) I actually did apologize to him for sounding rude (but I believe I sounded rude again before saying we were best off to drop the PMing) but I did not and absolutely will not ever apologize for the link itself.

2.) happy_terd is NOT right-- happy_terd says that only because we loathe each other. Why would someone be offended just by the fact that someone sent a PM to them-- a PM with only one purpose-- to attempt to help that person with a problem that they had brought up in the forum? (He asked for ways to help learn Japanese-- I sent a link to ways that could help in learning.) If someone doesn't want PMs at all, then I would assume that they would have PMs disabled altogether.

3.) I have no intention of getting into exact specifics of the PM contents, but I did stop after around 3 posts. There was no "repeatedly"-- that's an invention of happy_terd's assumptions.

I dont care that you sent a PM with the links to an illegal download site with vulgar or artistic (whatever you refer to it as) nudity on it. I care that when the guy asks you to stop that you decided to post a thread about it to show him how correct you are.

2 - Perhaps, then, happy just means that he would be P---- if YOU PMed him.

It's like telling a bad joke. Once you realize that you've put your foot in Sh--, stop. Don't try to explain why the joke isn't really offensive to the person you're talking to.

That does not make logical sense. I did not name the person (who did later name himself.) There are more than 50,000 (I think) registered members of this web site. There was nothing in the post that would have allowed anyone to identify the person. Even when the person replied in the thread, I was careful not to "out" him until he outed himself. So how would have lying and saying that the conversation happened some other place have made a difference at all? The only possible issue could have been the other person being annoyed that the conversation was being mentioned at all-- and the other person would have known that conversation was what I was talking about even if I had lied and said it was from some other source. So the effect would have been exactly the same. I think that you-- like happy_terd-- are speaking out of your dislike of me personally.
