I am new to this site and I must admit I am a little confused. I have yet to buy an ereader, and am trying to decide which one would work best for me. I have visual impairment, and it appears the nook has the largest fonts. What is the opinion from those who understand these devices?:thanks

![]() Welcome to mobileread .... Look in the Wiki Matrix <> - a great resource for all the details of each reader - and includes how many options each have for increasing font sizes ... A bit of an 'oldie' now, but I have a Bookeen Gen3 which has a large range of font sizes. |

Hi mindyfaith and welcome to MobileRead. You might check out our Which One Should I Buy section for in depth discussions of the various available readers. Also we have several vision impaired members who can give you good advice.

Unless I'm mistaken, since the last Kindle update the Kindle's fonts are as large as the Nook's, but if your eyesight is really bad, you may want to consider an iPad. On a iPad, you can zoom in on the text to a degree not possible with other readers. One of our members here got one for that very reason, and she seems quite pleased with it; plus it's illuminated, which should enhance your indoor reading experience. They cost more than the Kindle or the Nook, but you'd probably be happier in the long run. Not to mention that on the Nook, you can't enlarge the text on the lower navigation screen. It's a one-size-fits all font that I doubt would work well for you. |

Good to have your company, Mindy. The zoom on my Sony 505 has only three levels, but the third produces pretty huge font. I'm sure this facility is even more flexible in later devices. Of course, as has been mentioned, an iPad would allow you to magnify to your heart's content. Best wishes. Neil
