Or the somewhat less painful (physically, anyway) checking why the hose isn't working (we have pretty high water pressure here.....) :shirtchange:

Poor thing! I'm glad you're all healed up now, but remember: never do that again unless you're making a Bloody Mary with real blood!

I seem to have a knack for showing her what NOT to do, by rather painful means, like the time I was so thrilled that she was riding a two-wheeler, that I tried to take a digital pic of her while riding behind her. My crumpled body lay bleeding on the gravely, twiggy, dirty edge of the bike path, well, the crumpled left side of my body (hand, wrist, elbow, knee and shin...). My camera survived with a scratch & a chip. My ego... obliterated.

And every time we go on a bike ride, I get the "Both hands on the handlebars Mom!" lecture. Who's the parent and who's the child? I mean, really?!

Be careful, she is growing old and there's a few things a teenager should not do that you would be much better not to try...
I think Mall is a brilliant and very special child, so I think you can stop hurting yourself for her sake!

I seem to remember reading about that!

I once decided to check to see if all the wires on the motor of my now dead food processor were still connected by taking the back off and poking around with my fingers whilst it was plugged in and the socket on...

I've had several people tell me not to say what I think will go wrong next - most memorably my Mum after I asked her what she would do if the iron caught on fire. She laughed and said it would never happen. It turned out that what she would do if the iron caught on fire would be shriek loudly and throw it across the kitchen... and then a boss after the two suggestions I had as to what could go wrong in the server room next were what went wrong. In fairness, the flood wasn't that hard to predict. The fire a few months later was just a lucky guess.

Currently playing with my new iPad 64GB wiffy (I called it "Ulysses"), and contemplating my new 6000-piece puzzle (picture, the Magna Carta Mundi, 165.3cm/65" x 114.3cm/45"). Also, about to go out to lunch with The Loved One and Mother.
