Mallory and her friend just got done swimming. Hot enough for swimming, pool water is still not warm enough for me yet! We were watching & listening to a couple storms pass by north of us in the distance. I merely had the thought to water my flowers and these clouds appeared! Sunshine & thunder had a strange effect. Still had to water my flowers, but I don't mind! I filled a washtub up with cold water from the well, for our dog Lady. She has a thick black coat and loves to jump in her little pool!

This just in... rain, buckets of it. I watered my flowers for nothing.

We made a seat-of-our-pants decision to go to DeKalb today. I think we saw your storm while on the way - you can see for miles on that one section of Hwy. 38, you know. We didnt' get rained on, which was good, because we had the top down on the Tracker!

We finally had that thunderstorm last night! It started to storm, at around 1:00. And at around 2:00 it finally started to rain a bit. At around 3:00 I finally closed the windows in the bedroom (roof windows) because the drops were so large they were rebounding inside... Our 168 liter water butt is full again (it was 4/5th empty, and so only slightly above the tap point...). And the air smells all clean and fresh! The first thing I did this morning (around 6:30) was to open all doors and windows wide open...

it's a 15C (59F) start, blowy with some sunshine. Just a drop of rain overnight, supposed to stay dry through the day and maybe reach 20C ! (68F in the old money)

In my insanely misguided attempts to acclimate myself to this never-ending climate pattern, I took my "after-dinner" walk today at 3:30. Got a bit sunburnt and dehydrated - but made it back home. No change in 7 day forecast - so will continue becoming immune to sun-stroke!

You do realize that a chicken out for that long can be perfectly cooked with solar heat?

My son and I use to do science experiments, built a solar cooker, and even cooked a cake!

Be careful in the heat. It's not worth it to get sick with sun-stoke.
