Kobo Epub to AZW3/PDF conversion problem

Hi there,
I'm trying to convert a couple of (similar) guitar tab books I bought from Kobo to use on my Kindle. I can import them using OBOK with no apparent issues - however, when I view them in Calibre reader the text and graphics are all over the place, e.g.:

I don't have a Kobo reader so can't check there, unfortunately. But when I check the Epub on Moon Reader (Android), it shows without any images whatsoever.

Converting to AZW3 yields files that are unreadable on my Kindle.

Converting to PDF (probably preferable anyway for this content) fails in the case of one of the files:

For the other file, it produces a text that replicates the distorted EPUB file (not surprising, I suppose).

These will be an abomination called fixed layout EPUB. These are basically inferior PDF files and they are not supported in calibre. You will get distorted rendering/conversion of them.

You could install the Kobo app for Android and use it to see Your files. If conversion is not possible it seems the only way.

Ah, what a shame. Wish I'd bought the old-school paper version now...
Thanks for the answers and suggestion. I've been using the Kobo app indeed. It's better than nothing, but I'd just hoped to get all my guitar tabs in one location...
