Hai,
I´m trying so much, but I can´t see the cover on my paperwhite 2. My Version is 5.4.5.1 on the kindle and Calibre is 2.5 the lates update. The ebooks were transfer with USB cable from me. On my screen on the kindle I see a pseudo cover, that is made by Amazon screensaver with text, not the orginal cover of the ebook. I tryed so much: Metadaten cover change, no cover, simplified cover and cover made by calibre. Always the same result. When I send the ebook with email on the kindle, then I see the right cover!!! Please help me if anybody have the same problem. Tahnks Last edited by Trendis; 10-15-2014 at 06:56 AM. |

Did you use calibre's send-to-device?
If you manually copied the book via the file browser, calibre cannot update the cover on the sent book. calibre does not edit the original copy unless the user specifically tells it to. See the Embed Metadata tool. |

If your books are in the MOBI format, calibre cannot update them. The MOBI format is old and flawed and does not support the cover metatdata type.
You can reconvert a MOBI, and calibre will use its own cover metadata prepended to the MOBI, or convert to AZW3, which is a newer version of MOBI that supports cover metadata and will update in the future. Your profile says you have a Kindle Touch, which supports AZW3 -- I would suggest using that. You may have to configure calibre to send AZW3 first (see screenshot). |

Thanks, I update my profile..... it is a pw2.
I tried also to convert the books to AWZ3 or epub and take out the cover or put another cover in it. The result was the same. No cover seen on the pw2. I get 2 very new books and it is the same. When I convert with calibre metadaten mobi "new" my pw2 can´t open it. |
