View books on device using Cover Browser?

Is it possible to view the books on my device the same way as the default view for Calibre when viewing the books on my hard drive?
ie using the "Cover Browser"
I can see the button in the bottom corner and I can turn the cover browser off and back on for the main library on my hard drive, but when I try it on the device, nothing happens.
I can see a thumbnail of the cover and the synopsis for the books on the device in the "Book Details" column
Am I missing something?
My device is a Migear E_reader.
Regards,
Paul.

No, the cover browser only works for the library view. However, in the library view, simply type in the search

ondevice:true

this will restrict the library view to only those books that have a tick in the ondevice column. You can then browse this collection using the cover browser or whatever else you like.
