Calibre won't email books (but email and delete works)

I'm using Calibre 7.44. I'm posting here before logging a bug on the (good) chance I'm over looking something and it's just user error.

The details:

I cannot email a book to my kindle via gmail -- no job runs
I CAN email and delete -- job runs, book shows up on my kindle as expected every time (weird, eh?)
Gmail test works fine (as you'd expect given point 2)
This worked -- I'm think -- on some version prior to 7.44

Do I have a setting wrong? Or does it work differently than I expect?

Any help appreciated. Thanks!

there's a bug, use the Email to sub menu instead of the top level email to action.

Have you got Gmail running on another PC or mobile phone? If so turn it off, that worked for me
