Hello, i have a problem with screen
I am new to this so sorry if I post a problem on the wrong thing. My screen saver has been on for a couple of days while I have been sick. When I tried to wake it up the screen saver only cleared half way up the screen. I did try to hold the power switch over to reset it but it did not clear. Is there anything else I can do?

Hi Holli, welcome to MR from the Netherlands. Is it fully charged? Did you try a reset? = hold the on/off button to the right for about 15 sec.....release and wait for the Kindle to reset. Did the Kindle fall and perhaps the screen is broken?

Its quite possible that your Kindle needs to be charged. With eInk displays, power is not used to display an image or text. It is only used to change the display. Whatever was on the screen the moment the battery died will remain on the screen. Your battery may have run down and was only able to power the device long enough to partially rewrite the screen.

My Kindle does that sometimes too. I get a kind of "ghost" image. I find that it goes away after the screen has been refreshed a couple of times. (Once or twice.)

If that doesn't fix it, I'm not sure what to tell you! (Although the battery suggestion makes sense to me.)
