Yes. Costco had a sale $50 off. I have been after him to get a tablet for a while. He was doing everything and playing games on his phone.

IMO, Samsung has the ugliest devices on this planet! I especially hate their white, shiny plastic devices trimmed in chrome.

Just tried it. While it's a pretty green color it's a no for reading. At least for me. I like the sepia.

I can't read on an LCD device. It bothers my eyes too much. But that green is ghastly.

First time I have seen it. They get the color thing right too with citron instead of 'green' like most of these case makers. I get the feeling some of the manufacturers had no idea what color citron really was.

I ordered my Fire 6 from Best Buy on October 7; it was on pre-order status with a shipping date of October 21. I had an order at Amazon with a delivery date of October 16, but I figured I could wait an extra week, so I cancelled it. On October 21, I got an email from Best Buy saying my date had been pushed back two days to October 23. OK, slightly annoying but not a big deal.

When I hadn't got a shipping notice by this morning, I went exploring. My order status hadn't updated at all since the inital order. Called them, the canned response said my back order is currently expected to ship as late as November 14. I kept hitting zero until a person picked up and I was told that my status had changed from pre-order to back order on October 18, so they knew that early that my order wouldn't be fulfilled on time.

I'm not a happy camper. I wouldn't have been pleased to learn that they didn't get enough inventory from Amazon to meet their pre-orders, but I'm infuriated that I got an intentionally misleading email on my original ship date which cited my status as pre-order rather than the accurate back order and said in so many words that my order would be delayed by only two days, which was clearly impossible. Also clear is that they make up dates and I'll get it when I get it, and who knows when that will be? In any case, there have been no further communications and I checked my spam folder.

Obviously I'm kicking myself that I didn't let my order with Amazon stand. I know this isn't a big deal in the grand scheme, but I did have plans for it for well before I'll get it now. I'm also a tad concerned about quality control if Amazon has to crank up production rates to meet demand.

That case was made by Amazon; that's why the colors are right. Amazon also makes a leather version for $10 more.

Amazon is showing in stock for all colors of the 16GB HD6 and all colors except black for the 8GB HD6. That black one shows 13 Nov availability.

This is very similar to the case I have, and is at a good price, but am I correct in thinking they have the flap closing backwards?

The same thing happened to me. Since my citron from Amazon was bad, I returned it.
Then they said they would replace it in late November. So I placed an order from Best Buy.

Best Buy was supposed to receive all colors on October 21. Amazon didn't ship them any colors. Supposedly now Amazon will ship them colors in late November. I contacted customer service at Best Buy a couple of times about this. Someone was supposed to work on the pre-order info on the site. Now they are not taking any orders on colors.

Staples has removed all colors from their site also. I'm guessing they're all at the mercy of Amazon.

I like what they did regarding the volume control better than the Exact, on mine if the front flap is closed you can't access the volume control, but the flap closing in reverse would probably throw me off a bit.

Thank you! After reading this thread, I assumed without checking that I'd have to wait just as long on a new order at Amazon. I've cancelled my Best Buy order and according to Amazon, my Fire 6 will come next Wednesday.

I wouldn't have blamed Best Buy if they had, I dunno, told me the truth! Instead of sending me an obfuscatory email to string me along. Seriously, your supplier reneges, I'm not happy but I'll accept it. Just keep me informed.

I've got my fingers crossed that this time is the charm for me. Perhaps you'd be best served by cancelling your BB order and placing a new order at Amazon?

I'm aware of a certain irony in my impatience in getting the untested (by me) Fire 6 when I never liked my 1st gen Fire, which was clunky and buggy. Ah, marketing, you found a live one in me.
