Sadly this is true. I have always felt that these books would make great movies or tv series and was very excited when I heard this was coming out.

After watching all of the episodes so far, I wish it had remained print only.

The guns didn't really trip me up. I'd known for quite some time they were going to make an appearance. I actually welcomed the ramping-up of the post-apoc/scifi elements. Looked forward to it in fact. My objections are not to deviation from the source material, per se. It's the horrible writing, the logical inconsistencies (within the show's own framework), the painful dialogue, the "dumbing-down" of things for the target audience, the "who gets captured by the baddie of the week (a baddie who will, of course, die)" episode formula, and ridiculous decisions made by characters (I'm looking at you, lets-stop-for-some-sexytime-before-we-continue-trying-to-rescue-our-friend-who-is-being-sold-into-servitude-as-we-undress).

And the Amish EDM hipster rave led by that lame Jack Sparrow wannabe, of course. I could have done without that.

Freeview, one of Channel 5's spin offs, so will be on Demand 5 as well.

Thanks, Jon. It wasn't one I'd come across before. I watch very little TV, and 90% of what I do watch is the BBC News channel.

You really should broaden your TV viewing. There are a lot more programs to watch than BBC News.

I prefer reading

Ow... I went to check if the season has ended. The last episode was on March 1 (had to make sure not to read the description on Wikipedia). I'll see if I can temporarily travel to America and watch episodes 5-10. Even though it might not be the best book adaptation in history, I'll be damned if I don't finish it after seeing episodes 1-4. I want to at least see how they end it.
