I think from the initial post some people thought he was a troll but he's not! Some strange people like to troll the forums of devices they don't like and flaunt their limitations.

IMO if you are upset by the limitations (some of your criticisms are justified and have to be 'hacked' to get around) I'd just sell it and wait for the new Kindle 3 to be released and see if it's better or look at alternatives (like iPad/Sony/Nook).
Will the IPAD be the way of the future, will EINK win the day, or is the likely scenario something like the Notionink Adam that is a hybrid of both technologies? Personally, I think, in the end, the hybrid will win the day and I am sure we haven't seen anything like that which could be achieved in that line yet....

eInk:s biggest problem as of today is it's to slow. Doing fast page turns doesn't work very well. This makes it acceptable for normal reading where one don't care about fast page flips but for research I need to get something faster.

How fast do you need? eInk screens can do about 5 page flips a second at present.

Plus, if you use the search function and bookmarks for research then the speed of the the page turns is less important. I have a couple of technical books on the Kindle and I search for information instead of flipping through the book. It's equivalent to using an index in a print book.

The Kindle does lack search for PDFs and annotation is primitive. If you are really interested in an electronic reader for research then there are better devices.

I'm putting my money on the Adam tablet but it's hard to know before it's out.

You will not be able to see the page content as you flip at faster speeds.

None of my readers are that fast.

The refresh/page flip should be fast enough that it is non-noticeable as far as I'm concerned and even though I'm used to it, it is still noticeable.

The last I heard, it's expected to be out June/July but I believe it when I see it. This isn't just another one of those tablets, it comes with a Pixel Qi screen, combining the best of e-ink with the best of regular LCD. In other words, you can have a full color, normal LCD, or a black and white e-ink-like display at the flick of a switch.

It's because of the flash that you deem it as noticeable. If you see software which cancels the flash, you'll notice a huge difference.
