Yikes, glad to hear Max is OK. See I complain about the winter but we don't have these problems in the middle of February. Remember to get Max a life jacket for the sailboat too.

The vet was saying that we should have epi available for this in the future. It would have to be one of those things where I kept the vial in the fridge and then drew it up when needed. Unfortunately, not everyone has the requisite experience to do such things. Maybe there's a new market out there: EpiPooch!

It's a doohicky that looks like a pen that you can stick in your leg in case of a severe allergic reaction. They are often life savers. My old coworker had to tell me where his was in case he ate any nuts.

Yup. I should be more specific and say it stops people going into aniphilactic (sp?) shock. I'm not sure what medicine it is, but it probably begins with "epi."

It's pretty nifty. Makes it easier for those without medical training to help save someone's life.

good to know. i wonder if we have those over here ? i've never heard of them, but then there are plenty of things i've never heard of... but i don't know many people with life-threatening allergies over here, either.

Update: He's fine today. We had a commitment to go to last night and we were on pins and needles the whole time. We got back and in his best Vivialdi imitation, managed to convey that he was not amused at being bereft of all the attention he'd been receiving for the past 24 hours. Removed the IV today, which tape also caused tape burn, which then had to be compulsively licked until I put another tapeless bandage on him. This afternoon, he was his usual bouncy self.
