I can honestly say that I do not know what a felafel is. Time to google it.

I love a good falafel pita sandwich with taziki sauce. Lots of fiber, so I have to plan my day around that sort of lunch!

found it in wiki. Falafel looks to be quite tasty. Depending on what the actual ingredients are. Undfortunately, with my tastebuds, the veggies/onions and such would have to be minced or pureed, but I can see having one with shredded pork or beef would be quite delish. |

Yes, I knew it was Falafel, but I assumed "Felafel" was an alternate or regional spelling.

GW, you would love it. It's minced together so finely that it is more of a paste. Made into little patties and deep fried, then piled onto a pita and YUMMY! There's about a billion middle eastern restaurants in B'ham, and it seems to be pretty much the same at all that I've tried. Dip it into taziki sauce, which is cucumber & sour cream sauce, then take a big bite. The reminds me that gyro is one meat that I do NOT like. I always seem to get the slices with eyeballs or cloven hooves or something else icky. |

Oh, let's not head down that road. If you really think someone's clueless, the polite euphamism to use is "I think you're full of sh**!" Seriously, I would be sad if there's namecalling or bad feelings in this thread so let's please be kind. It's a fact that we all have our thoughts and opinions we hold dear and they can't all be simultaneously true. | |

Yogurt! That's right! Although I do think a thicker sour cream sauce might be yummy too, now that you mention it.

it'd be incredibly yummy, but it would also kind of negate the health factor of the dish! also there is something about the tartness of yogurt that really makes the tzatziki (that's the name of that sauce) so good.

I am a vegetarian and eat eggs, cheese, dairy. With 1/3 of an acre out behind the house I have a steady supply of vegetables and fruits 12 months of the year. I am sitting munching on carrots straight from the garden. Yummy. With the way most vegetables taste from the grocery store I am not surprised that many people want to eat meat. |
