It's been 3 years since my last refraction so I'm going to my Optomotrist today. Since I set my coffee cup on a non-existing counter top the other day I thought it might be a good idea.

To save time and not go to the Vent and Rant thread...

I just went to scope out the frames I've had my "eye" on for the last couple of years. They've been sitting in the window of a local eyeware store for the last 2 years until yesterday, when all of their stock seems to have been sold on the make/model that I was interested in. Trying to find a distributor for this certain make of frames via a welknown search engine has taken me to the brink and back of the event horizon of a black hole of useless information about a hundred times.

Unfortunately, that's pretty much how it is for us as well. Consequently, the only vacations we actually take are to local amusement parks and my parents' house in Florida. I'm hoping that once the older kids are out of the house and off my payroll, we'll have a little extra to take a few trips, like maybe to Paris! Next year is my 25th wedding anniversary and I would love to spend a little time in Europe.

Yep, when we go on 'holiday' we go to family and friends as the accommodation is very inexpensive.

If you do a tour of Europe, feel free to stop by Scotland (I just can't promise good weather.)

Wow .... that was an old list!! Although, my list on Sunday was sort of like that, except I was painting different things, and instead of making brownies for MaMaw, I did her laundry. (Her family is on a trip again, and she has been ordered NOT to use the washer because she should not be walking that far ... and I concur).

But, yeah .... I won't say that my usual day doesn't leave me pretty exhausted ... however, we have to remember that I have (1) no significant other within 1300 miles -- unless you count the cats, and (2) no children (other than the cats) that require attention, and (3) very little human interaction (except for running errands, and checking in on sick neighbors). So, when I shut down for the day, it's all "me" time.
