That means that patch does not work. I'll make a note of it. Just change yes to no and apply the others.

- Remove PDF map widget shown during panning
- Allow rotation on all devices
- Allow showing info panel on random screensaver
- Both page turn buttons go next
- Customize ComfortLight settings
- Hide browser from beta features
- My 24 line spacing values
- Replace adobe page numbers toggle with invert screen
- Set KePub hyphenation
- Default ePub sans-serif font (Gill Sans)
- Default ePub serif font (Amasis)

In the meantime, I've made some updates to the Web UI I mentioned earlier.

I think it's decently user friendly now, and much better than the initial prototype I shared. I plan on dedicating some time to further polishing this over the next couple of days; e.g. disabling patches that won't work and such, as I haven't really improved the patching user experience to where I'd like it to be.

(I have included an option to install NickelMenu and KOReader which is supported on most Kobo devices running FW 4.x, so that should also be helpful. I plan on adding an "only stock NickelMenu + KOReader" option too, but currently you can only install KOReader with the preset.)

These 2 patches from librmsdk.so.1.0.0.yaml do not work because the list of fonts included in firmware 4.39 onwards changed. You should be able to use the following as replacement patches.

The 2 epub font patches from librmsdk.so.1.0.0.yaml should work for all firmwares 4.39.xxxxx to 4.45.23646, i.e. for the 2024 devices. Future firmwares are hard to predict but they should continue to work if Kobo doesn't make major changes to fonts. Of course, all bets are off once Kobo moves to fw 5.x

Which 3rd patch are you referring to? If it's Remove forgot pin button from lock screen then it's almost certain that it will need to be changed for every new fw, i.e. same as it ever was.

Yes, that one. What I'll do it try it on the current firmware. If it fails, I'll try your update and if that fails, I'll just leave your update in the yaml as it won't matter.

Are you getting a bit confused. The correct BaseAddress for Remove forgot pin button from lock screen is in post #3. As far as I know you already corrected the post #1 zip with that a few weeks ago. A few days ago I did also provide an update for the same patch in the new firmware released for the Libra2, but that was in a different thread, i.e. your new thread dedicated to patches for 4.38.23648.

If you also want to correct the 2 post #37 epub font patches in librmsdk.so.1.0.0.yaml for fw 4.45, i.e. the relevant fw for *this* thread, then please go ahead. With luck they won't need changing in the next (if any) fw update.

Hi all.

I ran into a strange problem. I was compiling/creating a patch for my Kobo Libra Colour today. As previous time,
- i took the patch zip file in this thread,
- downloaded a firmware of version 4.45 and put it to the src folder
- turned on the patches i was interested in (main interest is cyryllic keyboard tbh)
- and according to the readme instruction tried to run kobopatch.sh.

Reseived the following error:

applying overrides
override Default ePub symbol font (Symbol) -> enabled:false
override Ignore ePub book Adobe XPGT stylesheet (page-template.xpgt) -> enabled:false
override Ignore ePub book CSS and Adobe XPGT stylesheets -> enabled:false
override Default ePub monospace font -> enabled:false
override Disable orphans/widows avoidance -> enabled:false
override Default ePub sans-serif font (Gill Sans) -> enabled:false
--> no such patch "Default ePub sans-serif font (Gill Sans)"

I have also tried to test the patch compilation without any of the patches being chosen, meaning files just decompressed from archive - the same error. I have also checked the files in the src folder, just in case to be sure that no patches are with "yes" status there - nothing. My first guess was that somewhere in some yaml file there is a patched flagged as yes, when it should not.

Can you please check once more the files in the archive from the first message in the thread and maybe give me a hint on my problem? Previous patch for 4.44 was compiled w/o any troubles and was working correctly until precious week when 4.45 was pushed.

I am also attaching the log file cos i am quite familiar with the overall log analysis (system testing background in automotive), but i am not familiar with the technical details for Kobo atm.

If you look at message #37 in this thread (expand and read the spoilers), you will find the answer to your question. Basically Gill Sans no longer exists in the newer firmware and you must substitute another sans-serif font.

If you download the attached kobopatch.yaml.txt and rename it to kobopatch.yaml, it should work (I removed the font names from the default serif and sans-serif patches. I've also repackaged the file set and updated the name to _v6.
