Trashedmy format template for all books; how to recover?

...wanted to delete a highlighted book, clicked in the wrong column, got a template popup...a in a fit of stupidity, hit delete. Now all my listed books say

TEMPLATE ERROR: Single '}' encountered in format string

in the format column.

Stupid me. How do I recover

You can re enter the template using the calibre GUI via Preferences->Add my own columns.

That did work and thank you.
But..
Now the old Formats column is still there as:
Column Header, Modified, Lookup Name: last_modified, Type: Date...etc

when I try to delete it with the -(minus), it says:
The selected column is not a minus column

Is there a way to get rid of it?

You cannot delete builtin columns. But you can hide any column by simply unticking it
