I saw those I have quite a few in my Libby and wondered about the Goldsborough ones!

I can go ahead with trying them as well. I didn't really understand why two authors, but can't thank you enough for the heads up!!

I've got 3 books checked out to try tonight, just back ups, so if I like the first one I try, I'll let the other 2 go back for now I so love Libby, had to get used to it after being on Overdrive for years, but I made the switch, very happy with it

thank you again Apache

Rex Stout wrote the original Nero Wolfe novels from the 30s to the 70s. After his death, Goldsborough has continued the series with permission from Stout's estate. Stout was a much better writer than Goldsborough is

@abbynormal52 since you used to read romance novels, you'll probably like most series by Janet Evanovich.

I really liked the Fox and O'Hare Series, but the other series are also very entertaining.

I accidentally "borrowed" an audio book, of the Rex Stout, but to be honest, I didn't understand the story, which started out about Archie, and a his marriage license. I couldn't tell if it was all a big joke on Nero, or for real.

This could just be my brain not comprehending but I don't think that book at least will be good for me to try any further. My CNS was compromised, and I do very well with my "routine" things, but I'm still in recovery.

Thank you for your info, I do appreciate it, denise~abbynormal

It doesn't always work. I've seen some wildly inaccurate results.

Have you taken a look at Louise Penny's Chief Inspector Gamache series?

I also thought of Dorothy L. Sayers Lord Peter Wimsey books but they are English and not American.

Have you tried Dorothy Cannell? Her first book, The Thin Woman, is one of the all-time greats. The others are several steps down.

Not a series, but I've always greatly enjoyed H. Beam Piper's "Murder in the Gunroom":

For comical and lighthearted, certainly give Inspector Wilkins a try. (The Affair of the...) There's only three novels in the series, of which the first one is the weakest. With 2nd one and being one of my favourite novels in the genre.

There's also Mitford Murders Series. Comfortable and easy, if a bit average. And naturally, Agatha Christie. You can only go wrong with her on her last novels. Cormoran Strike was already mentioned. There's some romance, but it's light and sidelined, some novels can be gruesome, though. The best modern detective series, by far.
