Okay, I see the setting, 'Virtual Panel'. That works, thanks!

KCC panel view error
Quote:
In the latest version KCC keeps thinking and doesn't finish converting if I use that option.

As stated in release notes and a couple messages above, panel view is enabled in the Aa menu on the Kindle. Leave the KCC setting unchecked. KCC should have warned you about the option.
EDIT: KCC 9.3 in now in pre-release: greatly optimized docker image various better error messages nonrotated spreads are now 2x the device width for zooming all files are marked as PDOC, no need to plug in kindle for covers. Amazon won't delete them. Last edited by axu2; 11-26-2025 at 12:42 AM. |

hi!, when having a folder with comicinfo inside, if you use a epub/mobi it will use it which is great but when converting to cbz it will delete it, is there a way to make it so it preserves it? some places have the comicinfo in the download and i would like to use it without having to insert it into the cbz after it has been done

KCC doesn't preserve it right now, Kobo stock cbz reader crashes if it's there. I suppose I could make it an option but it's not a priority.
EDIT: KCC 9.3.4 is now in pre-release: various fixes to output folder option KCC might be a little faster with some file operation optimizations I mostly wanted to get one more bugfix update out before GitHub retired the macOS 13 builder tomorrow. EDIT2: Had a small bug in comicinfo detection introduced in 9.3.4, I pre-released 9.3.5 to fix that. Last edited by axu2; 12-03-2025 at 11:41 PM. |

Hello,
I‘m having trouble running the Kindle Comic Converter (KCC) on my Mac running Catalina. Device: Intel Mac with macOS Catalina 10.15.7. What I’ve done: I have installed Kindle Previewer 3 and successfully moved KCC into my /Applications folder (permissions seem fine). The problem: When I try to open KCC, it just bounces in the Dock for a few seconds and then nothing happens. It doesn‘t launch. What I’ve tried: I tried to run the executable directly by right-clicking the app, selecting “Show Package Contents“, and navigating to /Applications/Kindle Comic Converter.app/Contents/MacOS. I received the following error in the terminal (I am unable to upload the screenshot, so I‘m pasting the text): Sorry, ”Kindle Comic Converter“ cannot be run on this version of macOS. Qt requires macOS 11.0.0 or later, you have macOS 10.15.7. I really like and trust Catalina and do not plan to upgrade my OS, so I would be very grateful if this issue could be addressed for my system version. If this is a problem on my end, I would also appreciate any guidance on how to fix it. Thank you so much for this great software and for your maintenance efforts! ( ˘ω˘ ) |

Are you using the legacy build? kcc_osx_10_14_legacy
I have confirmation it works on 11, but I intended for 10.14+ compatibility. Maybe one of these links help: https://superuser.com/questions/1564...le-failed-with https://apple.stackexchange.com/a/328207/501877 https://stackoverflow.com/questions/...-gb-myapp-dist https://github.com/ciromattia/kcc/issues/551 If one of those methods work please let me know so I can update the wiki. Hi again,
Thank you for your reply and for pointing me to the kcc_osx_10_14_legacy version. I downloaded and installed that specific version, but unfortunately, I‘m still seeing the same error when trying to run it from the Terminal: icaros@192 ~ % /Applications/Kindle\ Comic\ Converter.app/Contents/MacOS/Kindle\ Comic\ Converter Sorry, ”Kindle Comic Converter“ cannot be run on this version of macOS. Qt requires macOS 11.0.0 or later, you have macOS 10.15.7. As someone who’s not very tech-savvy, I looked at the methods in the links but got a bit lost. Since the error message directly mentions a macOS version mismatch, I thought the issue might be related to compatibility, and I don't think it's a permissions issue. It seems the current build might still have some trouble with Catalina. I really enjoy using this system and plan to stay on it, so if there‘s ever a chance to improve compatibility in the future, I’ll be happily waiting and looking forward to it. Thanks again for creating such a useful tool and for your time. Best regards. |

I see, thank you for the information. I suspect that Qt wheel has mislabeled macOS minimum, let me try downgrading it further, test builds here:
https://github.com/ciromattia/kcc/pull/1187 I downgraded from 6.5.2 to 6.4.3 In fact, looking at the docs confirms that. https://doc.qt.io/qt-6.5/supported-platforms.html#macos https://doc.qt.io/archives/qt-6.4/su...rms.html#macos Unfortunately, the macOS-13 builder is now retired, so I had to build on macOS 15. But it should work anyways. Last edited by axu2; Today at 01:43 PM. |
