I ran through this page. It seems very feasible (if one uses a dumb PC with Windows like I do, that is), although slightly more time-consuming than the system using older K4PC and DeDRM versions. My fears would be that 1/ the software doesn't find the encryption keys file correctly and I have to go hunt for it (the method for doing so is not very clearly explained), 2/ its life expectancy is short if Amazon puts their engineering teams on the war path against it. Did anyone here (probably "early adopters") use this method more than just a couple of times, and if so would they be kind enough to share their thoughts about it for the education and improvement of not technically too gifted with slightly cold feet about it people like me ? Thanks in advance.

I've used it quite a lot (actually, its earlier version, which requires creating a memory dump file). While relatively time-consuming, I've had no significant issues with it.

You can run this on any PC, if you use virtualisation. It works on an apple silicon mac, you just have to emulate the environment.

Epubor is a commercial product that uses (some on this board would say "steals") the method (and Calibre's conversion pipeline) without attribution, so there is a lot of ill-feeling about it here. Nonetheless, depending on your views and your needs, you may find it helpful.

A plug-in on Calibre and an eink Kindle (but not most recent models/firmware) is simple and automatic. Epubor might get your Amazon Account banned. |

Hello to all. In case someone is interested, here is an article (in French, sorry) about a developer (Pixelmelt, who has, I saw, a page on Github) who managed to convert an e-book from KFX to EPub by analyzing the file very carefully and transcribing/decoding nearly every single letter - over 1 million operations. Not much detail, but may be the basis for future deDRMing developments. https://korben.info/kindle-drm-obfus...ng-amazon.html |

For me, the latter two items are more than enough reason not to purchase Epubor regardless of any perceived value added by their packaging.

Pretty soon your Kindle reader is going to need an 24 core CPU running at 20Ghz with 64Tb of DDR27 high speed RAM to be able to display an Amazon ebook. Not to mention water cooling for all that processing power.
