				workshop, reduced screen
Hello. Question for the repair shop. I replaced the screen on a BQ Cervantes 3 e-reader that had a broken screen. The original screen on this reader is ED060KG1, but the seller I bought the replacement from sent me the ED060KC1 and assured me it was 100% compatible. You can see the result of the replacement in the attached photos; the image is reduced. The touch screen works, but at full screen, not like the image. The light also works. The resolution of both screens is the same. I no longer have contact with this seller. Do you see any solution? Last edited by DiapDealer; 06-11-2025 at 01:56 PM. No, it's obviously not the same part, and also obviously not compatible, unless the cable connection or socket was damaged, or isn't mated correctly.

I would like to know which ebooks this ED060KC1 screen would be compatible with, as I believe it is in good condition.

The multiple lines at the bottom of the screen certainly look like the sort of artifact you get with a broken screen, also why do you have a partial sleep screen on the left but also what looks like a wake up screen/ start screen on the right? If you bought this from somewhere like ebay I would contact them about pursuing a refund if possible (although if the seller has gone quiet/ disappeared that may be difficult) |

It almost looks like a 1072x1448 screen displaying a 758x1024 image. OTOH, the spec sheets say that both the ED060KC1 and ED060KG1 are 1072x1448 resolution panels. Was the Sleeping on the screen there when you received it?

I have no idea bout YOUR device or even if it does have that type of setting. My comment was a 'general' possibility to research in the manufacturers repair documents. SMD boards do not always have obvious jumper, but might use 0 ohm resistors (and have R# designations instead of JP#) for even attempting a self repair |

The lines on the bottom of the screen looks like a broken substrate. Have you tried making sure the ribbon cable is installed correctly? |
