Would an Calibre internal notification also be possible? The constant Windows notifications for every little thing are driving me mad - evrything is doubled now

But it will take some time for me to implement it in this plugin, I think. I need to solve some CCR issues, then I'll get back to this.

hmm, doubled? that shouldn't happen. Must look into it.

In the meantime, my suggestion is: press win key + A, then change the windows notifications to priority only. It took me decades to find about this Windows setting, sigh.

Anyway, this is far from a definitive solution, since it is a global mute action for notifications. This and the fact that Windows doesnt provide links in the toasts, made me prefer the in-app notifications, as well.

Dings me when an SMS arrives, two minutes later dings me again, even if I've responded already.

@BetterRed,
To stop your iPhone from notifying you of the same text message twice, navigate to Settings > Notifications > Messages > Customize Notifications > Repeat Alerts and set it to "Never". This setting, often defaulted to "Once" (which repeats the alert after 2 minutes), is the most common cause of double notifications.
Mine only dings once now.....

Unfortunately, I didn't express myself clearly. By "doubled" I meant Windows notifications and Calibre internal notifications.
I used a tool that allows me to move the Windows notification to another corner of the screen, so that way, it no longer covers the confirmation messages.

But Windows really spams you with messages.
