Amazon has removed Download & Transfer option

Huh, my Kindle Touch always says that the store is unavailable. Just made sure to charge it up yesterday and downloaded my last purchase made on the website.

While the older WiFi Kindles may not be able to access the store, the important thing is if they can still download eBooks and they can. Store access is not important or relevant.

I downloaded and transferred a bunch more books from Amazon today, ones I had already purchased/owned, but when I imported them into Calibre, all of them have come up as still having DRM, even though I have the latest NoDRM plugin installed, and have all the correct Kindle serial numbers entered. Seems like something has obviously changed in the last couple of days as I was able download/transfer and remove DRM earlier this week.

What model was Target Kindle?
Which "latest" version? There are release (10.0.3), beta and alpha versions.

You want the Alpha release to make sure you have the latest code.

The Target Kindle is a PW5, whose serial number I entered into the relevant bit of the plugin. The release I've been using is this one https://github.com/noDRM/DeDRM_tools...lease/releases, which worked last week when I downloaded it, and earlier this week.

I just did a D&T with an AZW3 e-book targeted for my PW5 and DeDRM worked as expected.

Personally, I don't think I've ever bought a book through the on device shop on any ereader I've ever owned -- Nook, Kobo, or Kindle.

I have, but not often. Memorably I was once rushing through Sydney Airport to the gate when I noticed in a bookstore display the new autobiography by Bernie Ecclestone. Couldn't stop but once settled into my seat on the plane was able to get out my then quite new Kindle Keyboard with worldwide 3g, access the Kindle store, buy the book, and download it to read during the flight. Felt very pleased with myself.

I've never bought an eBook via my Kobo or Kindle. I have no desire to do so. I prefer to make sure it's formatted properly. So many eBooks are not formatted well enough.

I have used the "Buy Next Book" feature on my PW5 that shows at the end of a book if I was already reading a series, but I've never used the store to browse or make purchases outside of that

I removed and reinstalled the latest NoDRM release that I linked above, then removed and re-added the three E-Ink Kindle serial numbers I have to the plugin, and it now works. I don't know what those problems were all about.

It seems like my only options going forward are to hope that the existing KFX methods keep working, drop the series, or be okay with only having DRM copies that I can't control which is unfortunate.

I’m in the same boat. I may stay in kindle unlimited for a while, no point buying the books if I can’t download them. It all depends on how many books I get through a month. I won’t stay in KU long term, just dip in and out as I see things I want to read.
